Who we are?

Ground Up is a partnership approach between the community gardening expertise of Grow Together CIC and the educational and awareness building element of Feedback Global.

What are we doing?

We bring together learning from building an educational school gardens that promote growing, being outdoors and generate a better understanding of the food system for young people.

Who are we doing it for?

Ground Up has been designed to work with teachers, teaching assistants, parent volunteers, community growers and projects running within a school setting. We have designed the resources to be achievable at primary, secondary and specialist school levels. This is also able to be used in other community growing settings too.

 

Why are we doing it?

Our aim is to have a virtual way to support gardens to function and reach their potential to develop. Making sure that gardens will thrive, are invested in and offer maximum output to produce the next generation of growers. Connecting the food that we eat to our health, communities, environment and planet.

How are we going to do it?

We have researched approaches, governance, curriculum and practical elements of managing a schools garden and all the contributions it can make to a happy healthy school for young people, parents and teaching staff. We are realistic and simplistic in our approach to be a great foundation for advancing your green spaces if both capacity and passion allows.
